Locavore Festival

Houghton’s festival to kick off thefarmer’s market season is scheduled for the second year on thepier. This year, the festival has a new and unique name: theLocavore Festival. Locavore: noun; a person who celebrates locallygrown food, art and music.
In2023, the From the Ground Farmer’s Market Collective largelyhandled the organization of the vendors and other important details. This year, the City of Houghton is putting on the festival along withhelp from Visit Keweenaw and the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce.
Inaddition to locally grown food and local artistry, there will also belive music, farm animals, and food trucks. Keweenaw Boat Tours willbe holding boat tours of the canal.
