Independence Day Activities

July 2, 2023

 Ahmeek – Monday – at Gabe Chopp Park
 • 11:00 – Kids parade 
 • Noon – Kids games
 • 2:00 – Live music by the Wingnuts
 • 2:00 – Bingo
 • 6:00 Raffle Drawing (purchase tickets from any Ahmeek firefighter)

Baraga – Monday and Tuesday – See separate entry for Lumberjack Days. Additional activities will take place at Baraga State Park.

Bruce Crossing – Friday
 • 6:00 – Outdoor Movie Night – Park Pavilion – Dumbo and The Sandlot
Saturday – Stannard Township Park:
 • 9:00 to 1:00 – Co-ed volleyball tourney (ages 12 and up). $20/team fee. Call or text 404-433-7983 for details, or to register.
 • 10:00 to 4:00 – VFW Brat and Hot Dog Sale at VFW Hall
 • 11:00 to 1:00 – Lions Club Chicken Dinner – with corn on the cob and roll 
 • 12:00 to 10:30 – Party Pavilion open, serving adult beverages – Pearce Family soft rock and blues from 4:00 to 6:30, Flat Broke Blues Band from 7:00 until 10:30
 • 2:00 – “Red, White and Blues” Parade – lineup at 1:00 at the Steamboat Bill Ballpark
 • 3:00 to 7:00 – Adult and kids games, tractor rides, Kickball tourney, fireman’s tug-o-war
 • 10:45 – Fireworks

 Copper Harbor – Tuesday
 • Parade at 10:00 followed by children’s games; fireworks at dusk


Dollar Bay – Monday:
 • 11:00 – Honor Roll rededication
 • Noon – Alumni basketball games
 • Bouncy house, face painting, carnival games – ballfield
 • 7:00 – Refreshment stand opens
 • 8:00-Midnight – Street Dance with Rewind
Tuesday:
 • 10:30 – Chicken Barbecue opens 
 • Noon – Parade, followed by family games at Pioneer Park

Gay – Tuesday:
 • 12:00 to 3:00 – The historic Gay Schoolhouse will be open all afternoon. The fire and rescue department will have an open house. The Auxiliary will have its big July 4th sale. Enjoy the notorious Gay parade.

Greenland – Saturday – Activities will include the walk/roll/run, and kickball, golf ball chip, and cornhole tournaments. The parade will begin at noon, and will be followed by kids games, concessions, a raffle, and local musicians performing in the park. Night Screamer will play during the evening, with fireworks at dusk.

Hubbell – Tuesday

Lake Linden – Monday:
 • 6:00 – Vendors and refreshments in the park, live music from Slick Nickel

Tuesday:
 • 9:30 – Grand Patriotic Parade. After the parade, vendors, refreshments, live music, kids games and races, and grandstand events at the park
 • 1:00 – Veterans Memorial Service
 • 3:00 – Park vendors close
 • 6:30 – Bicycle parade

Michigamme – Monday
 • 6:00 – Concessions – park
 • 7:00 – Boat parade
 • 8:00 to Midnight – Live Music – park
 • Dusk – Fireworks over the lake
Tuesday:
 • 11:00 – Parade, followed by races, a kids carnival, and refreshments

Mohawk – Tuesday:
 • 9:30 – Activities begin at Mohawk Park
 • 10:00 – Children’s parade

South Range – Tuesday
 • 8:00 – Flag Raising Ceremony
 • 8:00 to 4:00 – Flea Market/Craft Show 
 • 10:00 to  4:00 – Old South Range Photo Gallery – Kaleva Building
 • 10:30 – Cornhole Tournament – South Range Pub
 • 11:00 to 4:00 – Fun in the Park – Veterans Memorial Park

Tapiola – Saturday
 • Parade at 10:30, followed by the Otter Lake Fire department cookout, picnic and community fun.

Trap Rock Valley – Monday
 • 11:00 – Parade (begins at the north end of Angman Road)

Trout Creek – Tuesday
 • 10:00 – Lawnmower parade

White Pine – will hold its community celebration and fireworks July 28th and 29th
