Hancock Snow Sculpting Invitational

The City of Hancock and Visit Keweenaw will host the inaugural Snow Sculpting Invitational, February 21st through February 23rd on Quincy Green in downtown Hancock.

Four teams of talented snow sculptors will include including the renowned Sculptora Borealis, whose team members have won the National Snow Sculpting title four times, in six appearances over the last seven years; and Team USA, winners of the Bronze medal at the 1998 Nagano Olympics and two-time National Snow Sculpting title winners.

Event Schedule on Quincy Green:

Friday, February 21st:

• Team arrivals: noon
• Sculpting competition begins: afternoon

Saturday, February 22nd:

• Sculpting competition continues: all day

Sunday, February 23rd:

• Final Sculpting: Morning
• Tools Down: Early afternoon
• Judging and Deliberation: Following completion
• Winner Announcement: 2:00 PM

Spectators are invited to witness the transformation of massive snow blocks into beautiful and intricate works of art throughout the weekend. The event will culminate on Sunday afternoon with the announcement of the winning team. 

The Snow Sculpture Invitational is free to the public, and attendees are encouraged to dress warmly and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
 
Also, the Hancock Business Association (HBA) invites the community to participate in a snowman/snow person building contest, welcoming residents and businesses to showcase their creativity while setting the stage for the main snow sculpting competition.
